To get an idea of what occurs during a dental crown procedure, read the steps below.

• First and foremost, Dr. Henderson will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your teeth and gums.
• Once it is decided that a crown is the best way to go, Dr. Henderson will explain the process and answer your questions about porcelain crowns.
• Digital bite impressions and measurements are taken.
• Dr. Henderson will remove any bacteria from the tooth.
• Your weakened tooth will be reduced and cleaned to make room for the new crown. A temporary crown will be set into place until your second appointment.
• Dr. Henderson will take another digital impression of the reduced tooth.
• The impression is immediately sent to our lab for your new crown to be created. Dr. Henderson will request a specific shade for your porcelain crown so it blends in with your natural enamel.
• Once the new, metal-free crown is sent over to our office, you will come in for your crown placement.
• During the last step in the crown placement process, Dr. Henderson removes the temporary crown and affixes the restoration with a strong bonding agent. Finally, he will adjust the tooth for a natural fit and flawless appearance.
